Outdoor WorXs provides full-service core aeration. It's the process of taking out deep plugs of soil using a machine called a “core aerator.” We can also use our Aero-Vator ,which is designed to stir and loosen the soil beneath the sod without destroying the turf by creating a core hole without bringing a core plug to the surface, leaving the turf ready for use immediately after treatment. Nine holes are created per each foot (97 holes per square meter) and hole size is regulated by drive speed-- the slower the drive speed, the larger the hole. The Aero-vator works best in dry un-irrigated ground leaving a core hole while fracturing the sub soil.
Soil can become hard and compacted over time which negatively affects how nutrients and water are absorbed by the grass roots. This condition of compaction can encourage molds, insects, and disease while limiting the growth of grass roots. This results in leaving your lawn in less than ideal shape.
After aeration, more oxygen reaches the roots and encourages the plants to fill the empty spaces. That crowds out weeds and allows crucial nutrients to penetrate the soil.
Aeration also reduces the amount of thatch. Thatch can suffocate your lawn when it becomes too thick. Aeration allows the growth of microbes which breaks down the thatch naturally, allowing a denser, more beautiful and lush lawn. Aeration is one of the more overlooked services.
